Album Intro

Start here for a short introduction to the heart behind this project—for parents, leaders, and families.

Read the intro narration

Growing up today isn’t easy. There are a lot of voices telling you who you should be, how you should feel, and what you should follow.

Some say, “Follow your heart.” Some say, “Follow the crowd.” Some say, “Just be yourself.”

But Jesus says something different: “Follow me.”

These songs speak to real issues — fitting in, big emotions, peer pressure, failure, anger, comparison, and questions about identity. They don’t deny the struggle, but they also don’t let the struggle lead. They point back to truth, repentance, humility, and hope found in Jesus Christ.

We don’t follow feelings. We don’t follow the crowd. We follow Jesus.

Release Notes

A clear summary for parents, churches, and youth leaders explaining the purpose and heart behind this release.

Read the release notes

I Follow Jesus is a discipleship-focused project for children and teenagers navigating cultural pressure with biblical clarity and hope.

Rather than avoiding hard topics, this album speaks directly to real issues — identity, emotions, peer pressure, purity, shame, anger, comparison, pride, and the need for belonging.

Each song follows a simple pattern: name the struggle, expose the lie, point to Jesus, and call for obedience and trust.

These songs are Christ-centered (not self-centered), Scripture-grounded (not feelings-led), honest about sin (yet rich in grace), and clear about repentance (not cheap forgiveness).

John 10:27 (KJV): “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

Parent & Youth Leader Guide

Simple on purpose: listen, talk, read Scripture, pray, obey.

How to use the album

1) Listen together (car rides work great).
2) Ask: “What part felt true?”
3) Ask: “What does God say about that?”
4) Pray 30 seconds and pick one obedience step for the week.

Conversation starters

“I Messed Up” — What’s the difference between saying “sorry” and truly turning?
“Why Am I So Angry?” — What does self-control look like for you this week?
“Everyone Looks Better Online” — What lie does comparison tell you?
“I Didn’t See It” — Where does pride hide besides arrogance?
“I Belong to Jesus” — How does belonging to Jesus change choices?

Clarity (what this album does not teach)

This album does not teach self-definition, “your truth,” or feelings as authority. It teaches that Jesus Christ is Lord, Scripture is truth, repentance is a real turning, and identity is found in belonging to Christ — not in labels.

FAQ

Quick answers for parents, churches, and youth leaders.

Who is this album for?

I Follow Jesus is designed for kids and teenagers, and it is also built to be parent-safe and church-friendly. The songs address real pressures young people face and point them to Jesus Christ and the Word of God.

Is this album safe for younger kids?

Yes, the themes are handled with care. Parents will still want to decide what is best for their child, and the Parent and Leader Guide is provided to help you use the songs as discipleship tools.

Does the album talk about dating or purity?

Yes, one song addresses peer pressure around dating. It does not glamorize sin or treat purity lightly. The goal is to help young people choose obedience to Christ when friends push the other direction.

Does the album excuse sin or say "God understands" so it is okay?

No. The message is consistent: sin is serious, forgiveness is real, and repentance means turning. Grace is not a permission slip. Jesus calls us to follow Him.

What does "I Messed Up" mean in this album?

It is a repentance song. It is not about staying stuck, blaming others, or repeating the same sin. It is about confession, godly sorrow, and a clear turn back to the Lord.

How should parents and youth leaders use these songs?

Use one song at a time. Listen together, read the related Scriptures, ask a few simple questions, and pray. The Parent and Leader Guide includes a simple method and ideas you can use.

Do I need to agree with every lyric word-for-word to use this with my group?

These songs are written to be straightforward and Scripture-forward. If you have a question about a line, use it as a moment to open the Bible. The Scripture Guide is there to keep everything anchored.

Where are the Bible verses for each song?

Download the Scripture Guide. It lists the key passages for each track so you can connect the lyrics to the Word and keep discussion biblically grounded.

Can my church use this for youth nights or small groups?

Yes. You can play a track, read the Scripture, and discuss it in a short segment. Many churches also use the songs as conversation starters for students who are struggling but do not know how to talk about it.

Will you provide lyric videos or resources for teaching?

Yes. The plan is to keep adding resources. The landing page includes downloadable PDFs now, and lyric or teaching content can be linked here as it is released.

Is this album meant to replace preaching or Bible reading?

No. It is a tool to support discipleship. The goal is to point young hearts back to Scripture and to Jesus Christ, not to music as the authority.

How can I share this with a parent or leader quickly?

Send them this page link and the Parent and Leader Guide PDF. That guide explains the purpose and gives a simple way to use the songs right away.
